The III “Orient 2024" Paranational Games kick off with the participation of more than 1,800 parathletes

On the afternoon of this Sunday, December 1st, the III Paranational Games 2024 opened from Maturín in the state of Monagas. This is the highest event in the Venezuelan para-sport, which this time will have 1,858 athletes who will compete in more than 10 disciplines.

The authorities of the Ministry of People's Power for Sports plan to distribute 1,578 medals to the athletes who will participate in the jousts. In addition, 5,858 technical teams will be present and the parathletes are part of 40 sports federations.

The competitions will take place in Anzoátegui and Monagas, for which the José Antonio Anzoátegui General Football Olympic Stadium was rehabilitated and an internationally certified athletics track was built in the state of Monagas.

The games will run until next Sunday, December 8 and will include the following disciplines: 5x5 deaf-Olympic basketball; 5x5 intellectual disability; 5x5 wheelchair basketball: for kickboxing; deaf-Olympic indoor soccer; boccia; for table tennis; soccer 7 cerebral palsy and intellectual indoor soccer.
