The Government of Lara projects more than 840,000 quintals of coffee for this year's harvest

The governor of the state of Lara, Adolfo Pereira, announced that the coffee export projection is more than 840,000 quintals, for the 2024 harvest.

The information was provided by Pereira, during the broadcast of the radio program “Actives with Adolfo”, in which he stressed that the entity managed to make a great economic contribution on a regional and national scale.

He stressed that this growth is part of the efforts promoted by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to strengthen the agro-food sector.

He indicated that this production not only benefits the region, but also contributes to national supply and exports.

For her part, the Secretary for Economic Development, Ivett Segovia, emphasized that through the Lara Foreign Trade Company (EMCOEX), approximately 26 products are exported to countries such as India, Turkey, Panama, Indonesia, in addition to the European continent.

He also highlighted that the Productive Financing Fund granted more than 200 loans and training workshops for 311 entrepreneurs.

The president of the state agricultural company Lara (AGROLARA), José Santeliz, specified that 50 coffee producers with organic fertilizer were financed in the Andrés Eloy Blanco municipality.

“We are preparing to serve the coffee farmers who are starting to buy fertilizers, there are 26,000 coffee producers in Lara,” he said.

He mentioned that the opening of agro-stores is continuing and announced the early opening of a branch in Rio Claro for producers in the area.

He noted that they are continuing to consolidate alliances with the private sector. “We are developing Sovereign Countryside Fairs, we have held 27 fairs for people to do their shopping at a great price,” he said.

He also indicated that 10,000 tomato plants have been planted in partnership with the Integral Company for Socialist Agricultural Production Valle de Quibor (EIPASVQ) and AGROLARA has two greenhouses to plant 20,000 hectares of paprika.

“They will also be used for hallaqueros combos, where companies can purchase with us,” he said.
