The director of the General Archive of the Nation (AGN), Rosario Soto, visited the Archdiocesan Archive of Mérida to establish cooperation agreements aimed at the formation of the National Network of Historical Archives.
During the tour, Soto, accompanied by priest Edduar Molina, vicar and director of the archdiocesan archive, learned about the safekeeping, safeguarding and preventive conservation of the documents preserved by this institution.
Located in front of Plaza Bolívar, in the historic center of Mérida, the archive brings together documents of historical, ecclesiastical, social and cultural value, and keeps its consultation services open to researchers, historians, students and the general public.
The institution also carries out research and editorial production activities. To consult their catalogs, publications, schedules and services, interested parties can visit their Instagram account: @archivoarquidiocesanodemerida.
