The fishing sector grew by 25% and the aquaculture sector by 20% during 2023 (+President Maduro)

The President of the
Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that during 2023, growth was achieved
in the fishing and aquaculture sectors.
In this regard, he specified that
the figure of 244 thousand metric tons of fish catch and
aquaculture production was achieved, achieving a growth of 13% in the fishing sector, compared to the year 2022
At the same time, he indicated that fish
catch increased 25% in 2023, reaching 182,000 tons.
While aquaculture production grew by 20%, reaching 38,000 tons.
In addition, he specified that shrimp
production leads exports of seafood to the world
with 98% of production compared to 2022.
“Venezuela is going to
become not only a producer of its food and healthy quality food.
We produce organic, natural food for the health of a people. Soverano
100% will eat companions this year,” he said and called for strengthening the country's fishing
sector.
