(LATEST NEWS, April and June 1942 + EL NACIONAL, August 18, 1943)

  • When today President Nicolás Maduro Moros took historic steps towards the creation of the International Anti-Fascist Front, it comes to mind that 82 years ago a group of young revolutionaries met at the Teatro Olimpia in Caracas to celebrate the first anti-fascist assembly held in Caracas. Before an audience of 1822 people, they defended the international politics of President Isaías Medina Angarita and the **deportation of Mussolini's black shirts, scattered in several cities in the country.
  • Among the speakers of the day were the historian Juan Bautista Fuenmayor, co-founder of the PCV in addition to Miguel Otero Silva, of the Youth of the PCV and a columnist for El Nacional.
  • In this auditorium, the creation of the first Anti-Fascist League in America, a sister association of the Anti-Imperialist League of America, founded years earlier by Gustavo Machado together with **** other Latin American leaders whose newspaper was called El Libertador, in homage to Simon Bolivar, was proposed.
  • A year later, physicist, mathematician and intellectual Carlos Augusto León published a review of the film Diary of a NAZI, based on a notebook that fell into the hands of the Soviet army. Its content narrates the intimacy of an SS officer, of whose content we have the following extract:
    • “... depopulating Eastern Europe (Russia) is the only effective way to pacify these regions. The strict administrative discipline, the Gestapo, seems to have no permanent effect. This is why the execution of hostages is the most effective method.”
    • “The stupid arrogance and enmity of the Russians is not unique. Czechs and Poles are as bad as they are... none of these Slavs seem to understand their position. It is necessary for us to constantly remind them, by force, that they are under the protection and domination of the German race.”
    • Its original title is “Diary of the Invincible Fourth SS Regiment” and it was the subject of a Russian film that General Medina ordered to be shown in several movie theaters.
  • Regarding these Nazi-Fascist expressions, Carlos Augusto León said: “In the 20th century, the Nazi appeared, an animal of prey and crime; the vulture outweighs him in feeling, the hyena is less bloodthirsty than him. It has the advantage over wild beasts of its deceptive human form, an appearance that other vermin have not achieved in and of itself...”
  • In June 1942, seven German submarines entered Venezuelan waters. They gunned down small boats carrying fresh vegetables and fruits on their way to Curaçao. On several occasions they were approached to get food, and on one occasion they kidnapped five women who were then abandoned on a beach in our eastern Caribbean.
  • On April 4 of that year, an individual was arrested at the Maturín Popular Market in Monagas state, an individual cheering for Hitler's exploits and self-proclaiming his Aryan superiority and ancestry. The individual turned out to be an employee of a pharmacy owned by a Nazi agent named Schaffernonn.
  • Similar arrests were carried out on the orders of General Medina in Ciudad Bolívar, Caracas, Valencia and Maracaibo, where Falangist agents were acting in an attempt to alter social peace.

THE CONTEXT:

  • Against all the laws of reason and nature, Hitler launched himself against the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). Defying the forces of history, he waged a genocidal campaign against the country that was the tomb of the French Empire and, in the end, the tomb of the Führer himself.
  • Right now, the United States is doing the same. Atilio Borón has been able to explain this very well when he says that the United States began to wage its first expansionist interferences and invasions in Latin America, where it will also wage its last one, knowing how to indicate that the Great Homeland of Bolivar will also be the grave of ***American imperialism.
  • The voices and expressions of fascism, which in the past invoked the “civilizing presence”, had visible faces that General Medina detected in time and expelled from the country, while consolidating the first 100% democratic government of the 20th century.
  • Today, those who invoke a holocaust for their own country, through an invasion of Erick Prince's mercenary forces, have a visible face in María Corina Machado and her band. Once again, Bolivarian Socialism will defeat them with Nicolás Maduro's masterful formula: more popular participation, more production and more peace.
