THE FACE OF FASCISM IN THE TIME OF GUARIMBAS - FEBRUARY 2014

Leopoldo López calls for heating up the street and calls for “La Salida”

(Caracas-CCS City, February 12 to 27, 2014)

  • At the beginning of February 2014, Leopoldo López, through Popular Will, followed by Antonio Ledezma's Alliance for the Brave People and First Justice by Henrique Capriles, provoked incendiary barricades and street locks to advance a plan to overthrow the legitimately elected president Nicolás Maduro Moros.
  • All these violent actions, known as “La Salida”, were funded by USAID, through the non-governmental organization SUMATE, led by María Corina Machado.
  • A new fascist generation, kleptomaniac, arrogant, homicidal and ruined, destroyed public facilities, set fire to public transport units, lit candles on palm trees and ended, during the first day, the lives of three people.
  • The first three victims of the guarimbas caused by Lepoldo López's summons were: the Bolivarian National Guard Captain Ramón Ernesto Bracho Bravo, the student Jesús Enrique Acosta (20 years old) and the worker Guillermo Sánchez (42 years old), all killed by street violence in the Edo. Carabobo.
  • As a result of the destruction and death that occurred on February 12, the Public Ministry (MP) charged Leopoldo López with charges of: incitement to commit crimes, burning of public buildings, damage to private property, intentional homicide carried out for futile and ignoble reasons in a degree of frustration, determinant of intentional arson and association to commit crimes, among others.
  • To guarantee the life of the opposing fascist, the court in the case transferred him to Ramo Verde, where the measure of deprivation of liberty was ratified. There was knowledge of a plot hatched within the opposition to assassinate López and thus justify a military intervention by US troops.
  • On February 23, 2014, the President of the AN, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, denounced the seizure in the edo. Carabobo of 300 Molotov cocktails, 160 grams of gunpowder, 420 miguelitos, 200 liters of gasoline and 32 rubbers... This material would be used to attack people and any citizen who walked on the street... he added that an official of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) was pierced by a crossbow arrow.
  • The incendiary call to La Salida caused the burning of health centers, universities, schools, police units, businesses and supermarkets.
  • Its objective was to cause deaths in the streets, confusion on social networks, to cause as much chaos as possible throughout the country, to encourage a civil war, and finally to remove Nicolás Maduro from Miraflores by force.
  • The deaths were mainly caused by bullet wounds to the face or neck, wire rods placed to cut the throats of motorized vehicles, barbed wire traps, burnt oil spilled on the pavement to cause shocks, and incendiary bombs to suffocate bystanders and people trapped in their homes. Many seriously ill people died because they were unable to get to health centers in time for emergency care.
  • At the end of La Salida, there were 43 deaths, mostly police and law enforcement officers. Material losses due to damage to property and to assets in the public and private domain amounted to more than 15 billion U$D.
  • During the research process, it has been reliably proven that the NGO Súmate received direct funding from United States government agencies (USAID and NED) to pay for violent groups, fund criminal professionals, cause media chaos, attack people and block roads.
