In order to summarize the behavior that Mrs. María Corina Machado has had over the years, we bring here the actions she took in 2021, when the regional elections for mayors and governorates were held.
International guests always arrive for the elections in our country who
accompany the process as observers; this was criticized by María Corina Machado when the European
Union (EU) sent an observation mission to Venezuela: “Serious
error on the part
of the EU. This does not help the democratic struggle of the
Venezuelan people, but rather the permanence of the regime,” he wrote on his social networks.
He added that “participating in elections would be putting the headstone on the
interim Government”.
Also, in that year, with regard to a new call for dialogue by the Bolivarian Government and for good coexistence during the electoral event, Machado stated in an interview with PanAm Post, that Nicolás Maduro sought to stay in power with this new negotiation: “ We are not going to fall into blackmail and the extortion of claudication. And we told the European Union. It's not about how many people are going to vote or who people vote for. Electoral conditions have not improved. It's getting worse every day,” he said.
However, in November of that
year, Machado asked to leave behind the supposed “interim” and choose a new opposition, “a popular election without the National Electoral Council (CNE)
or military was the proposal of the national coordinator of Vente Venezuela
to give way to a new opposition leadership that does not cohabit with the
Maduro regime”; it seems that the rest of the citizens living in Venezuela should only to have the option
of democracy that she intends to establish if she had any power.
Despite the fact that 2022 represented for
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro his return to
international politics, building strategic relationships that benefit the nation
and that ended up obscuring the image of Juan
Guaidó and the Venezuelan opposition, in addition
to promoting dialogue in Mexico with the Venezuelan opposition and thus preserving healthy political coexistence in
the country, Mrs. Machado maintained her
violent position, denying their support for talks between the opposition and the
government, declaring that “it is not choosing a candidate for an election that does not exist today
, we must choose a new political leadership that can
constitute that force with moral authority, align all internal and
external forces to achieve a real negotiation, leading to a
real election”.
Despite being disqualified, María Corina Machado organized and participated in the 2023 opposition's primary elections.
In this
process, managed by her NGO, SÚMATE,
and despite having announced more than 10 people to represent that
opposition option, she was declared the winner without an official report being submitted,
which generated distrust, even within the opposition sectors. This was
yet another example of his attempt to manipulate electoral processes in his
favor, resulting in more disappointment for his supporters.
Faced with his announced victory,
he declared: “Today I want to tell you to rest assured that with all this strength,
with all the pressure, with all the agreements and negotiations that are
taking place, I am going to sign up and I will defeat Nicolás Maduro.”
In that year, the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) carried out a review of
the disqualifications, to which Machado
said that he would not review her case because he considered it illegal, but at the end of the
last day of the scheduled deadline, her status was presented and ratified,
leaving her without legal authorization to participate in a popular election event.
However, knowing that a disqualification
means that in any electoral event in which the winner is not in a
position to take office, the most logical option was not to participate; however, instead of allowing the
person
who came second in the primaries to be the one who was in the national elections, turned her back on the
other participants and chose another candidate other than those inmates.
This is how Edmundo González came to
register as a presidential candidate.
Former candidate González did not participate in the electoral campaign; since Machado was taking a banner with his photo to tour the country. Nor did he sign the agreement to recognize the electoral results, proposed by the CNE in each electoral process.
During 2024, the right wing led by Machado
planned riots on July 29, following the presidential elections
in which Nicolás Maduro was re-elected, she, in her
usual rejection of democracy, ignored the results and promoted protests that turned violent.
This left at
least 25 dead and multiple public institutions burned down. This
attempt to generate a coup d'etat was once again neutralized and Mrs. Machado, unable to face the
consequences of her actions, went underground.
She reported electoral fraud without
presenting evidence or going to the competent bodies, or to the CNE and when she was summoned to the Supreme Court to present the minutes
in her possession; it is important to know that the records by law remain in the hands of the
representatives of each party that participated in the electoral event,
however, the parties that supported or lent their card to Edmundo González, went to the Supreme Court to declare that they never had the minutes in their
power, because by instructions
from Machado, the minutes were only manipulated by SÚMATE.
But this was not enough, Mrs. Machado created an alternative page to the CNE, in which she showed forged electoral records that clearly did not match those held by the Supreme Court; this is classified in the Law
as an electoral crime; since the only entity that can handle the information of an event like this is the Electoral Power.
Until now, he has maintained
calls for rebellion, ignorance of the results published by the CNE and endorsed by the Supreme Court, with the aim of cultivating a hopeful
environment for his followers, who, fortunately, are
realizing Machado's new scam and his dream of overthrowing the Bolivarian Revolution.
