The Chorro de Milla Zoological Park is moving forward in its anniversary week with a comprehensive day of sanitation and reforestation. With 74 years of experience, the space is a Venezuelan tourist, recreational and wildlife sanctuary reference in the state of Mérida.

The Government of Mérida, through the park's coordinator and Secretary of Animal Protection, María Inés Puliti, announced the start of an environmental day that contemplates the planting of more than 500 fruit plants to strengthen the ecosystem, details a press release.

The activity involved workers from the National Park Institute (INPARQUES), members of the Forest Fire Department, crews from the Meridian Tourism Corporation (CORMETUR) and personnel from the Ministry for Ecosocialism (MINEC), joining forces within the objectives of the Chuquisaca National Reforestation Plan.

The agenda for this week of celebration includes professional improvement workshops for park workers, yoga and meditation classes; a religious service and a special session of the Legislative Council of Mérida, as well as special evening activities scheduled for October 31 and Sunday, November 1.
