The Mayor's Office of the Píritu municipality in the state of Anzoátegui, began recovery and sanitation work in the lower part of the Ezequiel Zamora ravine.
Through a post on her social networks, Mayor Lucía Eugenia Córdova explained that the works are part of a preventive maintenance plan aimed at clearing the channel, mitigating risks in the face of possible rainfall and optimizing environmental conditions for the benefit of local communities.
“We began work to recover and rehabilitate the Ezequiel Zamora ravine, which was severely deteriorating. The force of the water was generating underground erosion, jeopardizing the stability of the sector's own main avenue,” said Córdova, during a day of inspection in the work area, accompanied by technical personnel from the city council.
He asserted that the work is being carried out through a strategic alliance with the Governor of the entity to guarantee funding and labor.
The works include the removal of sediments, weeding and general sanitation of the sector to ensure the proper drainage of water and to have a positive impact on the quality of life of the inhabitants of the area.
