To optimize the operability, road safety and reliability of the lighting system of the Rafael Urdaneta General Bridge, the Sectorial Vice Presidency for Public Works and Services, through Public Works, the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) and the Government of Zulia, undertook a profound transformation along the 8.6 kilometers of extension of this fundamental viaduct, which permanently connects the Eastern and Western coasts of Lake Maracaibo.
Juan José Ramírez, Sectorial Vice President of Public Works and Services, supervised the progress of the work and explained that more than 6 kilometers of cables were installed to completely restore electrical connections along the viaduct.
The modernization plan includes the renovation and technological replacement of 290 cobra type luminaires, ensuring optimal visibility for night traffic, as well as the incorporation of 144 colored luminaires that will enhance the architectural majesty of this Zulian symbol.
During the inspection tour, Ramírez highlighted the commitment and mystique of the united working class, whose tireless work makes it possible to make firm progress in the consolidation of safe and efficient public services for the entire Venezuelan people.
