As part of the immediate actions to address the emergency caused by the earthquake of last June 24, the Bolivarian Government launched the design of a network of six comprehensive care camps in Guarenas, with the objective of providing a safe roof to families who lost their homes or who had to be evacuated preventively in the Plaza municipality.

The mayor of the jurisdiction, Antonio Galíndez, reported that the first two camps have been operational as of this Wednesday.

These spaces are primarily intended to provide shelter and assistance to affected families in the Oropeza Castillo and Las Clavellinas sectors.

In addition, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), the civil authority explained that the remaining four camps will be progressively set up in the coming days.

To ensure the order and well-being of citizens, Galíndez explained that refugee families will have an identification system using safety bracelets.

“Families will receive comprehensive support in terms of health, food and social assistance directly in their own territories,” said the municipal executive.

In the health sector, the mayor announced that the municipality is preparing to strengthen primary emergency care thanks to international support.

“We are guaranteeing medical care and, in this regard, we are receiving a delegation from Barbados in order to install a field hospital in the jurisdiction,” Galíndez announced.
