This Sunday, July 7, 8 matches were played for the Round of 16 of the Venezuela Cup 2024 “Luis Mendoza” of the Venezuelan Football League (FUTVE League), where Monagas SC, Angostura FC, Metropolitanos FC, Academia Puerto Cabello, Marítimo La Guaira, Deportivo Rayo Zuliano, Deportivo La Guaira and UCV Football Club, achieved their qualification to the Quarterfinals.

Monagas SC defeated Trujillanos FC 1-0 by the minimum, with a goal scored by Fernando Basante in the 15th minute, at the José Alberto Pérez stadium in Valera.

For its part, Atlético La Cruz beat Angostura FC 5-4 in the penalty shootout, after the end of regulation time tied 0-0, at the Comanche Bottini stadium in Maturín.

Meanwhile, Inter de Barinas fell to Metropolitanos FC 3-2, at the Agustín Tovar stadium of the Llanera entity. The winning goals were scored by Ervin Zorrilla at 7' and 81' and Robert Garcés at 68'. The discount was made by Darwin Gómez with a double at 63' and 76'.

In the match played at the La Bombonerita stadium in Puerto Cabello, it was also defined in panels, this time it ended in favor of the local Academia Puerto Cabello, who beat Zamora FC 6-5.

Marítimo La Guaira defeated Anzoátegui FC 3-2, with goals from John Escobar at 11' and 90'+4 and José Castillo at 90'+1, the only goal scored by Guillermo Marín at 35' at the Barcelona Park stadium in Barcelona.

At the CTE Cachamay stadium in Puerto Ordaz, Deportivo Rayo Zuliano beat Bolívar SC 1-0 by a goal scored by José Luis Ochoa at 58' (DRZ)

The match between Deportivo La Guaira and Estudiantes de Mérida was tied 0-0, and was decided on penalties in favor of the Orange Machine 3-1, at the Olympic Stadium in Caracas.

The last spot went to UCV FC after winning 2-0 Deportivo Táchira, with goals from Brayan Alcocer at 77' and John Jairo Alvarado at 87', at the Olympic Stadium in Caracas.
