The 20th Book Fair opened in Guárico under the motto “Reading transforms”

With a tour of regional authorities and the public present in the historic center, this Friday, November 15, the 20th edition of the Venezuelan International Book Fair (FILVEN) was inaugurated in Calabozo, Francisco de Miranda municipality, in the Guárico state.
The inauguration took place in Plaza Francisco Lazo Martí to Plaza Bolívar in this city, where there is a varied editorial offer, under the motto “Reading transforms”.
This literary festival will run until Sunday, November 17 and, in addition to the book exhibition, an extensive program will be developed consisting of book presentations, talks, workshops and other cultural activities. Girls and boys can visit the children's pavilion located in the Ana Luisa Llovera Library.
The opening event, held in the early hours, was attended by the Executive Secretary of the Social Area of the Government of Guárico, Ramnellys Blanco; the Director General of the Mayor's Office of the municipality Francisco de Miranda, Rafael Jiménez; the Single State Education Authority and representative of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, Elías Zurita; the chronicler from Calabozo, Ubaldo Ruíz, and the honored regional writer Enrique Arévalo Braasch.
During the afternoon, the Deputy Minister of Development for the Cultural Economy and president of the National Book Center (Cenal), Raúl Cazal, joined, who highlighted the achievements of the Bolivarian Government in promoting books and reading for the benefit of the People and rejected the cognitive war waged by the international media against Venezuela.
In that regard, he pointed out that the Expoesia is being held in Caracas with representatives of other countries, who observe the reality of Venezuela and the people on the move who buy his books.
The opening ceremony was adorned with harp, quatre and maracas and traditional dances. The audience enjoyed the Alma Llanera Group of the Antonio Estévez Orchestra System, as well as the traditional La Burriquita dance, staged by women and girls.
The publishers of the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture participate in Filven Guárico through Bookstores of the South. The dog and the frog, Monte Avila and the Ayacucho Library.
There are publications from Fundarte, Trinchera, Ciara Foundation, and other exhibitors. This regional edition of FILVEN pays tribute to the writer Emilio Arévalo Braasch, winner of the 2019 National History Award, and to the writer Reinaldo Bolívar, internationalist and professor, current Venezuelan ambassador to Tunisia and Libya, who is out of the country because of his commitments.
On the opening day, the books The Thunder Box and History of Mr. Cody, by Benito Yrady, were presented; Colloquial Vocabulary of the Llanero, by Erica Blanco, and Afropedagogy in Venezuelan Education, by Jorge Guerrero Veloz. The executive secretary of the Social Area of the Government, Ramnellys Blanco, predicted success for this fair.
“I am extremely proud because Guárico has given birth, let's say so, men and women who have represented us internationally in what history is, in what is that cultural component that we must promote, capture and reaffirm. The culture that identifies us as Venezuelans,” said Zurita.
