The total reactivation of the generator system installed in the state of Zulia, which will take place progressively between October and next November, will allow the entity to have about 650 MW, according to estimates made based on the machines that are currently being operated on.

The addition of three machines to the General Thermoelectric Complex in Chief Rafael Urdaneta (TERMOZULIA) in the Zulian entity will add 430 megawatts to the regional electricity system and Rafael Urdaneta's four machines will provide an additional 90 megawatts, the Última Noticias portal reported.

In this regard, the governor of the entity, Luis Caldera, reported, during a visit to TERMOZULIA accompanied by members of the Regional Economic Council, the progress made in the work on the thermoelectric generation system, specifically on the TZ07, TZ02, TZ05 machines and assured that the TZ01, which is generating 130 megawatts, has already been complied with.

“We have seven fronts of work: in TZ07, TZ02, TZ05 and four fronts in Rafael Urdaneta. In parallel, we have another technical front evaluating the Ramón Laguna Plant and another one for efficiency for the TZ01, which was a spray project proposed by engineer Alberto Urdaneta for the machines we already have in execution,” he explained together with the territorial manager of CORPOELEC, Luis Infante, and the regional manager of Generation, Diomar Ríos.

He reported that the spare parts required to activate the gas turbogeneration unit known as TZ07 in TERMOZULIA are already in Maracaibo, which will add 150 megawatts (MW) to the entity's electrical system, which in recent days registered a deficit of about 600 MW due to overvoltage and instability.

Caldera reported that all plants are working simultaneously. He specified that the TZ02 will generate about 130 MW and the TZ05 another 150 MW. In addition, Rafael Urdaneta's four machines would allow for the incorporation of another 90 MW.
