This Thursday, the Teresa Carreño Theater in Venezuela was incorporated into the International League of Silk Road Theaters (LITRS), through a ceremony held for that occasion as part of the Second Investment and Trade Fair, an event that takes place in the city of Xiamen, People's Republic of China, from November 28 to 30.

At this event, which this time was dedicated to “Intercultural Exchanges, Mutual Learning and Diversity in Unity”, the executive director of the Teresa Carreño Theater Foundation, Irvin Peña, was present, who gave a presentation of the multidisciplinary cultural complex.

In addition, Peña held a series of exchanges and coordinations between the parties to make Teresa Carreño the first Venezuelan theater to join the LITRS, a famous platform that brings together more than 45 countries from four continents.

This edition of the fair brought together theaters, artistic companies, experts and national and international talent agencies to participate in an agenda full of activities, including spaces for cultural promotion, artistic presentations and visits to sites declared as cultural heritage.

LITRS began in the year 2026 as part of the Belt and Road Initiative, under the direction of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, to increase cooperation and cultural and artistic exchanges between the countries that make up the Silk Road.
