With the firm determination to comply with the constitutional precept of protecting vulnerable groups and ensuring their adequate access to justice, the president of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), Caryslia Rodríguez inaugurated in the city of Maracay the Special Victims Chamber of the Criminal Judicial Circuit of the State of Aragua.

Cited by an information note from the agency, Judge Rodríguez pointed out that this space's mission is to serve as a point of attention for citizens in situations of vulnerability, including children, adolescents, older adults, women victims of gender-based violence and other victims of family violence, indigenous peoples, people with disabilities and migrants.

The president of the Venezuelan high court toured the new spaces and noted the work carried out to adapt the Chamber, while expressing her appreciation to the judicial servants who provide their services in the Aragüeña entity for the work they do on behalf of those who are justiciable.

The Special Victims Chamber of the Criminal Judicial Circuit of Aragua is the second of its kind to be inaugurated in the country, after the first one was put into operation last year in the Palace of Justice in Caracas. In these spaces, attention is also provided for people who, due to the magnitude of the events in which they are involved, are referred to as special victims in the judicial process.
