This Friday, the hearing of the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court
of Justice (TSJ) was
held, resulting from the filing of the application for amparo introduced
by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
In this regard, the
president of the Supreme Court, Judge Caryslia Beatriz Rodríguez,
declared admissible the request made last Wednesday by the head of state.
He specified that the country
's highest court heard the amparo filed for the purpose of “investigating and verifying in an unambiguous and unrestricted manner the
results of these elections, this court being the sole and
highest instance of the contentious electoral jurisdiction, which converts its decisions into mandatory terms”.
The judicial authority called
on the intervening candidates who participated in the electoral process to abide by
and respect the ruling inherent to the present case.
“On the basis of the
reasoning made, this Electoral Chamber of the country's highest court, administering
justice on behalf of the Republic by authority of the Law and in accordance with
the constitutional and legal powers attributed to it, declares: that it
is competent, accepts and assumes the contentious electoral appeal presented on
July 31, 2024, by the constitutional citizen president of the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro Moros,” he said.
