This Wednesday, May 1, in an act of solidarity and
commitment, the working class of the state of Sucre gathered in a large
march in Cumaná that started from the La Copita dome to Catedral Street in the historic center,
in commemoration of International Worker's Day and in support of the Bolivarian Revolution.
“Today is a day of joy,
of commitment to the country, it is a day of loyalty, the greatest value of
our working class. From the land of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho,
we extend a fraternal embrace to all workers
who fight for decent labor demands,” said the governor of
Sucre, Gilberto Pinto, during a speech at the beginning of the activity.
He also highlighted the importance
of workers' loyalty and commitment to the homeland and emphasized
the social nature of work, “a vision promoted by Commander Hugo
Chávez, which includes care for the elderly and recreational systems for workers' families,” reports
PSUV Sucre.
For his part, the mayor of
Cumaná, Luis Sifontes, referred to the commitment of the working class to the
re-election of President Nicolás Maduro on July 28. “We are a
great team, a great family. We came together to defend our great family,
which is Venezuela.”
