With the purpose of strengthening the scientific training of young national talent, students from different states of the country participated in a practical learning day at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), as part of the preparation prior to the final phase of the first Venezuelan Nanotechnology Olympics 2026.

In the UCV laboratories, a multidisciplinary team of specialists and trained tutors accompanied the participants in the transition from theory to practice. This training space, according to a press release, made it possible to consolidate complex concepts of physics and chemistry at the atomic scale, while encouraging cultural and institutional exchange through the presentation of projects developed in their regions of origin.

In this regard, the participant from Monagas state, Mairelith Rojas, highlighted: “through tours of the Simon Bolivar University (USB), the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) and the Institute for Advanced Studies (IDEA), we have come to know, up close, advanced equipment and synthesis methods. This intense and enriching preparation impels us to train ourselves as the youth who will empower the scientific future of Venezuela.”

This technical day is part of a weekly itinerary that will allow the selected students to be directly linked to the research work carried out in the main scientific centers and university institutions in the country.

Through the theoretical evaluation and the development of projects aimed at responding to real needs, the National Scientific Seed Program demonstrates the level of technical preparation of young people. By exploring the principles that govern matter at the nanoscopic scale, participants promote the consolidation of technological, industrial and scientific capacities for Venezuela.
