Stigmatization of Venezuelans: The new achievement of the fascist right

Once again, the
fascist right has attacked Venezuelans, this time against migrants,
those who since 2014 bought into them the idea that they would be
better off outside the country, because the Revolution closed the doors to their development, due to the
sanctions and blockades they asked for.
This right wing, led by María Corina Machado and Edmundo González, promotes and endorses the discrimination, exclusion and
persecution currently suffered by our compatriots in the United States; this happens after destroying
the economy, promoting more than 960 sanctions against our
oil industry; thousands of Venezuelans left the country because of that provoked crisis and are
now subject to mistreatment, harassment and criminalization of our
kindness; just because they were born in this land.
A new affront, now
directed at migrants, was based on the Foreign Enemies Act
of 1798, in which we are no longer described as an “unusual and extraordinary threat”,
but rather as “terrorist enemies within the United States”.
It was this argument
that was used to kidnap 238 Venezuelans in the prison for terrorists
called CECOT, in El Salvador. This act has enjoyed
all the human, judicial and international irregularities;
since the absence of criminal records of the kidnapped victims was confirmed.
Thus, we were able to hear the
statements of the director of
Human Right Watch, Juanita Gobertus, who accused the Donald Trump
administration of “criminalizing Venezuelan migrants without any process”
legal that shows that they are indeed
criminals”.
It should be noted that
prior to the kidnapping, US federal judge James Boasberg demanded that the US
government explain what happened
on the deportation flights, because he himself had suspended them until he reviewed his immigration status and criminal record in that country.
The response to the federal judge
's demand by US President Donald Trump was to request his dismissal,
declaring to the media that “this lunatic judge of the
radical, troublemaker and agitator who was sadly appointed by Barack Obama, was not elected
president, nor did he win a popular election”; in that same statement, Trump added regarding the application of the
Foreign Enemies Act,
which “I don't know when it was signed, because I didn't sign it, others did. Marco Rubio did a great job, he
wanted them to leave and we approved it.”
The
kidnapping was planned
Regarding this statement, the President of
the Bolivarian
Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás
Maduro, explained last Monday on his Maduro+ program that “it must be said that those
kidnapped in El Salvador on
Sunday were planned, since last week, prior to the kidnapping, the United States suspended the Venezuelan flight that
was going to pick up the migrants, claiming that there was a sandstorm”.
President Maduro stressed that “we were going to
look for them on Friday, but they suspended the flight because there was a sandstorm,
then on Saturday we had the plane on and they said: they cannot enter Texas because the
sandstorm persists; surprise for us when on Sunday our migrants woke up
humiliated, tortured and shoveled in El Salvador, is that
democracy, justice and respect for human rights?”
Clearly, this sending of migrants to a prison in a third country, without any legal process, violates all international laws associated with respect for human rights and so far, the U.S. government has not issued statements justifying such absurdity.
During this aggression, as a people, we have
had the support of sister countries and even representatives of the American Democratic
Party who raised their voices against
illegal deportations; and as has been demonstrated, sooner rather than later the Bolivarian Revolution will
once again defeat and bring these brothers to their Homeland. Here we are
waiting for you.
