Step on top! Tiburones de La Guaira was crowned champion of the Caribbean Series

The Tiburones de La Guaira from Venezuela beat Tigres de Licey from the Dominican Republic in the final of the Caribbean Series to become champion of the 2024 edition of the tournament.

Those led by Oswaldo Guillen won 3-0 to bring the series to Venezuela.

Pitcher Ricardo Pinto didn't allow runs in 5.2 innings and Venezuela won its first title in 15 years.

The loser was César Valdez who received all three Venezuelan races in four full innings.

The victory is La Guaira's first series title in the Caribbean after eight appearances.

Tiburones thus won its first title in the Caribbean Series and the first for Venezuela since Tigres de Aragua won the 2009 edition.

The sharks join Navegantes del Magallanes (1970 and 1979), Leones del Caracas (1982 and 2006), Águilas del Zulia (1984 and 1989) and Tigres de Aragua (2009), as the Venezuelan teams that won the Caribbean Series.
