At a press conference, the spokesman for the United States Department of State (USA), Matthew Alan Miller, confirmed that the US government of Joe Biden interacts with terrorists to “promote national interests”.

We have commitments to the Taliban to promote U.S. national interests and we have commitments to HTS (Hayat Tahrir al Sham) to promote U.S. national interests, including, of course, the search and return home of American journalist Austin Tice, the spokesperson said.

Miller was questioned about the alleged ability to interact with organizations such as HTS and other terrorist organizations and answered: "Yes. Yes, we have the capacity, I'm not aware of any commitment to Al Qaeda, but we do have the capacity to interact with designated terrorist groups when it's in our interest.”

Recently, the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, confirmed that several US officials have been in direct contact with the violent Syrian group HTS, despite the fact that it has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization.
