On May 14, 1813, General Simón Bolívar began his advance towards Venezuela in the midst of a libertarian crusade, which was called the Admirable Campaign.

The ferocity and impeccability of the strategy promoted by Bolívar was rewarded in the rapid advance of this crusade for independence, which in just one month managed to liberate all the Andean territories of the then Captaincy General of Venezuela.

In demonstration of the determination that accompanied the Liberator, on June 15 in Trujillo, he signed the Decree of War to the Death, an instrument that radicalizes the struggle that would mark the fierce spirit that accompanied the independence troops in the battles of Niquitao (July 2), Los Horcones (July 22), Taguanes (July 31).

With this overwhelming passage, on August 2, Bolívar entered the city of Valencia, and then advanced to La Victoria, on the 4th of that same month, to discuss and accept the capitulation of the Spanish monarchy, thus managing to arrive in triumph in Caracas, on August 6, 1813, a fact that led to the founding of the second free and independent republic of Venezuela.

Today, 211 years after this unparalleled feat, a demonstration of libertarian capacity, ferocity and determination, the Bolivarian people are still steadfastly fighting old and new empires with the conviction that they know that the strength of the warriors who defeated the enemies of the Homeland over and over again runs through their blood.
