St. Petersburg begins festivities for 80 years of Russia-Venezuela relations

Starting this Thursday, March 13, the city of St. Petersburg opens its doors for the development of the exhibition of books and illustrations entitled “Venezuela: Country, People, History”, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Venezuela.

In this regard, the Government of St. Petersburg reported that the exhibition presents publications in Russian and Spanish that tell the history of Venezuela and Latin America, from the valuable collections of the National Library, international press reported.

In addition, schools in the city will join the celebration with the “Draw Venezuela” campaign. There, students will express their vision of Venezuela through art, using paints and pencils.

Venezuelan students will also participate in youth events in the city, including the festival of national cultures “Golden Autumn”.

The Venezuelan ambassador to Russia, Jesús Rafael Salazar Velásquez, has been invited to commemorative events that also celebrate the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade.

The exhibition will run until March 24, in the main building of the Russian National Library, located on Ostrovsky Square.
