SSATV: 90 earthquakes were recorded in the country in the last week

A total of 90 earthquakes were recorded in the country between October 09 and 15, 2026, as reported by the Venezuelan Seismological and Tsunami Warning Service (SSATV), attached to the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research (FUNVISIS), in its most recent weekly seismicity report.
According to SSATV reports published on its Telegram channel, the telluric events recorded during this period ranged from 1.6 to 5.2.
The institution also pointed out that the continuous monitoring of this activity makes it possible to observe seismological behavior in the national territory, a fundamental aspect considering that earthquakes cannot be predicted and that planning is the best tool to deal with them.
Finally, the institution called for the importance of maintaining investment in the scientific and technological area, stressing that betting on SSATV is building the future of an earthquake resistant Venezuela.
