National sports authorities held a meeting to organize the XXII Youth National Sports Games 2026, which will take place from November 14 to December 5 with the participation of 14,000 athletes from Caracas, Aragua, Lara, Carabobo, Guárico and Trujillo.

The Minister for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, reported that a website for the next event “will facilitate access to official information for delegations, technical teams and the public interested in the development of the highest youth event in national sport.”

The Games program includes 66 sports disciplines, with a presence in six states that will take over the organization of the competitions. Coordination with the federations will make it possible to establish the technical and operational conditions of each specialty, as well as the planning necessary for the development of the event.

In addition, the president of the Venezuelan Olympic Committee, María Soto; the president of the Venezuelan Paralympic Committee, Juan José Rujano; the general director of Sports Events, Jesús Brito; and the Deputy Minister of High Performance, Henyelberth Herrera, participated in the working table.

Cardillo assured that the current generation of athletes will play an important role in “preparing the country” in the 2028-2032 and 2032-2036 Olympic cycles.

He also thanked the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, for guaranteeing the resources to carry out the sporting events scheduled in the national calendar.

Additional Competencies

The planning of the Venezuelan sports system also included the Community Sports Games, scheduled from October 23 to November 7, and the Paranational Games, which are scheduled to start on December 10 with an estimated participation of 3,500 parathletes.
