In one week, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) has dismantled 17 illegal camps set up by irregular groups in Colombia, Defense Minister G/J Vladimir Padrino López reported.
Through a video posted on his Instagram account, the senior military officer explained that among these spaces, detected as part of the execution of Operation Lightning of Catatumbo 2025, were dormitories, centers for drug processing, logistics storage and precursors for the production of drugs.
In addition, in these actions, which take place over 10,000 square kilometers, the uniformed personnel have destroyed two clandestine runways, 27 vehicles and seized 655 kilos of cocaine.
Padrino López also indicated that, as part of this humanitarian operation, more than 2,000 people have been received who have moved to our borders fleeing violence in the neighboring country.
“We have given him comprehensive care in terms of health, education and nutrition. It is a true humanitarian operation that we have established there and it has yielded successful results. We're going from victory to victory. Operation Lightning of Catatumbo continues and will continue to bear fruit,” he emphasized.
