Special Olympics in Venezuela! Young Athletes Festival (+FVF) will be held in Nueva Esparta

The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) joined the celebration of Football Week 2024, an initiative organized by Special Olympics and CONMEBOL.

This Tuesday, June 11, as part of the scheduled activities, the Young Athletes Festival will be held, starting at 9 in the morning, in the wide La Caranta sector, Maneiro municipality, Nueva Esparta.

It should be noted that during the celebration of Football Week in Caracas, the FVF and Special Olympics Venezuela signed an agreement to carry out joint actions and activities for 2 years to promote the inclusion and sports development of people with intellectual disabilities.

Jorge Andrés Giménez Ochoa, president of the FVF, said he was very happy to sign this alliance, “if football has demonstrated over the years, it is that it is universal and knows no limits”.

“Football crosses all borders, it is played everywhere, it doesn't understand age, gender, or social class and, of course, it doesn't take into account any disability,” he said.

Among the commitments that the FVF will have under this agreement include endorsing and supporting competitive soccer events, organized by OEV at the national level, providing federated referees and sports facilities.

Scholarships will also be offered for the training of OEV trainers in FVF training programs, in order to certify these trainers.

In addition, it will raise funds through football clinics, charity matches, auctions and sales of sportswear.

For a week, Venezuelan soccer players with intellectual and developmental disabilities (DID), as well as athlete members of the Conmebol Member Associations, participate in activities to celebrate Football Week.
