Spanish party asks to exclude Israel from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

This Thursday, the sports spokesman of the SUMAR political party, Nahuel González, asked the Government of Spain to insist before the International Olympic Committee to exclude Israel from the next Olympic and Paralympic Games (Olympic Games) Paris 2024, while “the extermination of the Palestinian people lasts”.

According to information provided by the RT agency, through a letter, Sánchez explained that there must be a truce in war conflicts when there is an Olympic year and that, if not applied, “it may be agreed that individual athletes and teams, as well as official staff, leaders and other members of the delegation should not be admitted or expelled from the Games”.

“Right now there is a current genocide, a massacre against the Palestinian people, therefore, as long as this massacre lasts, we understand that it is unacceptable that the State of Israel can participate,” he said.

The number of victims of the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip amounted to 33,482 dead and 76,49 injured since October 7, 2023.
