The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, thanked his Bolivian counterpart , Luis Arce, for his solidarity and show of brotherhood with Venezuela after expressing his repudiation of mass deportations and violation of the human rights of Venezuelan migrants.

Through his Telegram channel, the national president specified that “ solidarity and brotherhood are demonstrated in difficult times, and so has this relationship with our sister Bolivia”.

He also stressed that such a complaint is proof of the “conscience and tenacity of President Luis Arce”.

The president of the highland nation sent a letter stating that his nation, faithful “to the principles of international law and its historic defense of the rights of peoples, expresses its firm rejection of any measure that criminalizes people on the basis of their nationality. The stigmatization of migrants and the application of provisions that facilitate arbitrary arrests, deportation measures without legal guarantees and the confiscation of property without judicial process constitute an affront to the rule of law and to the fundamental values of humanity”.

In addition, he reaffirmed his “deep and unwavering solidarity with the people and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the face of any measure that violates the fundamental rights of migrants and threatens their dignity”.
