This Wednesday, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, and the country's government will take retaliatory measures against Ukraine after the cut off in gas traffic, the TASS news agency said.
The head of the Slovak Government pointed out that the interruption of Russian gas traffic was a “sabotage of (Volodimir) Zelenski.” The leader confirmed that representatives of his Executive will discuss this issue on January 7 in Brussels. After the return of the delegation, Bratislava will study the application of retaliatory measures.
“On behalf of the Directorate-Social Democracy, I inform you that we are willing to negotiate and within the coalition agree to cease the supply of electricity and significantly reduce support for Ukrainian citizens in the territory of Slovakia,” Fico stressed.
On January 1, Volodimir Zeleski reported the interruption of the transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine due to Kiev's refusal to extend this agreement. Previously, Russian gas company Gazprom said that this decision prevented the company from supplying fuel along this route.
Data from European gas transport operators confirm the completion of supplies to Austria, Italy, Moldova, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
