Faced with the destabilizing intentions of the Venezuelan extreme right, on January 22, 2019, Captain Diosdado Cabello Rondón, who held the position of president of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), met privately with the then deputy of the National Assembly in contempt, Juan Guaidó, who argued pressure from the United States (USA) to proclaim himself “interim president” of Venezuela.

During the meeting, the now fugitive from justice acknowledged that the president of Venezuela was Nicolás Maduro and exposed the imperial plans to establish a fictitious government in the country, so he “was going to do a kind of pantomime in a square in Caracas”, but then, as expected, he denied his participation in the meeting with Cabello.

However, there were records to prove their attendance. To deny Guaidó, the Minister for Communication and Information at the time, Jorge Rodríguez, presented a video confirming the holding of the meeting, in which the opposition Roberto Marrero and the leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Freddy Bernal, also participated.

The video, which corresponds to a record of the Lido Hotel in Caracas - where the meeting took place - dated January 22, shows the arrival of the president of the ANC and the socialist leader at 10:59 at night; minutes later Guaidó arrived, 11:05pm, accompanied by Marrero, secretary of the National Assembly in contempt and member of Popular Will.

“They asked me for a meeting yesterday (Tuesday, January 22) in hiding and I gave my word that I wasn't going to say anything, because I am a man of my word. I gave my word that I would not say anything about the results of that meeting, as long as what we said at the meeting was fulfilled. Yesterday Juan Guaidó asked me for a meeting, I went to meet because for the peace of this country I meet with anyone,” Cabello emphasized after the extremist's denial.

Six years after that event, Guaidó ended up a fugitive with the money stolen from the Venezuelan people during his failed “interim”, while Venezuela is at peace and with the Bolivarian Revolution, led by President Maduro, at the forefront of the process of transformations for the good of the people.
