On Thursday, April 25, the 174 crew members of the Simon Bolivar Training Ship (BE-11) arrived at the Port of Kingstown in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as part of the XXXIV Foreign Training Cruise that will take Bolivarian Navy cadets for more than 4,500 nautical miles, for visits to the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia and Curaçao.

The reception of future officers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) was given by the Acting Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Montgomery Daniel, who highlighted the bonds of friendship and complementarity that exist between the two nations.

In his words, Daniel emphasized that “Venezuela continues to be a reference for freedom in Latin America in the fight against colonialism and oppression; over the years Venezuela has sought peace and equality, being resilient and with the essence of freedom. I would like to highlight once again the high level of cooperation, solidarity and progress not only for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines but also in the entire region; now with the Simon Bolivar School Ship that continues to sail like a bright light and with a message of hope, inspiring us to work together for the future of Latin America and the Caribbean.”

In addition, the head of the Venezuelan diplomatic mission to the Caribbean island, Francisco Péres Santana, expressed his admiration for the crew of the Simon Bolivar School Ship, referring to its members as “bearers of the truth and morals of the Venezuelan people.”

During its stay in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the BE-11 will be visited by Vincentians, Venezuelans and tourists who will take the ship tour to learn about the history, traditions and culture of our country, bearing the name of the Bolivarian Homeland high up.
