The Simon Bolivar National Choir (CNSB) released
its new album “Our Christmas” with the objective of highlighting and promoting
culture and Venezuelanism through music, as announced by its director Lourdes Sánchez.
“We wanted to recognize the historical contribution of
many of the Venezuelan composers and offer the public a
quality anthology,” Sánchez explained at a press conference, in which he stressed that together with
Miguel Delgado Estévez and the team of the choir's Artistic Committee,
they were responsible for choosing the most representative pieces of the
Venezuelan Christmas tradition, including aguinaldos, carols and compositions by great masters such as Modesto Bor, Otilio Galíndez and
Simon Diaz.
For his part, the executive director of El
Sistema, Eduardo Méndez, stressed that these are productions with excellent artistic, academic and technological
quality, recorded entirely
within the National Center for Social Action for Music.
“This album is a gift from Coral, and more
than a Christmas present it is a quality gift. In recent years, El
Sistema has made records of the highest level; it is an area in which we have
been specializing and this is an album made here one hundred percent, with
collaborators who associate themselves with us, but they are records designed, worked
and made by El Sistema,” he said.
In addition, Eugenio Carreño, who was in
charge of the musical production, said that he used cutting-edge technology to
achieve an immersive sound experience. “This album is recorded for the entire Venezuelan
community, for all Venezuelan homes and to celebrate such an important
moment as Christmas,” he said.
He stressed that in El Sistema “there are many choirs
and this album is a very important reference and marks a path to
follow in terms of excellence in Venezuelan choral music.”
The album “Our Christmas”, will be available on YouTube and Spotify platforms, contains 16 works and features the talent of guest artists: Xavier Perri, Ángel Fernández, Claudia Delgado, Luisana Pérez, Williams Mora, Deborah Briceño and Miguel Delgado Estévez, Radio Miraflores reviews.
