During her usual morning press conference, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced this Monday that she will send a representation of her Government to the inauguration of the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on January 10.

When asked by the media about her attendance at the ceremonies for the inauguration of the Venezuelan president and Donald Trump in the United States, she said that “in the first case there will be a representation or the ambassador himself who is in Venezuela (Leopoldo de Gyves), and in the second case, I understand that there are still no invitations, not only to Mexico, but there are still no invitations in general.”

As established by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, this January 10, 2025, Nicolás Maduro will be sworn in before the National Assembly (AN) for a new presidential term (2025-2031), after his resounding victory in the elections of last July 28.
