Second in gold for Venezuela! Freddy González Taekwondo Poomsae champion in Brazil

Venezuelan athlete Freddy González was named Poomsae taekwondo champion at the Pan American Games for the Deaf Brazil 2024.

The native of the state of Trujillo won the tatami and rose to the top of the podium with a score of 7.70, according to the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports on his Instagram account.

González joins Emmanuel Pedroza (athletics 5000 meters) as the only Criollos who have won gold medals so far in the competition

With this gold medal, Venezuela climbs to the 3rd place in the medal table with 2 gold and 5 bronze.

The Venezuelans who won bronze medals are: Jheison Mujica in Kyorugui taekwondo; Emmanuel Peroza in athletics 800 meters flat; Leonelys Suárez one in discus throwing and the other in bullet impulse; Aarón Montesuma in swimming in the 400 meters freestyle.
