The Scientific Council of the Sectorial Vice Presidency for Public Works and Services (VSOPS) carried out a specialized technical deployment for post-earthquake structural evaluation in archive and library areas of an important building of public interest.

This action responds to the National Government's guidelines for diagnosing possible vulnerabilities, ensuring the preservation, stability and security of the nation's strategic infrastructures after recent earthquakes.

To carry out preventive diagnosis with the rigor of modern seismic-resistant engineering, the team of experts used cutting-edge LiDAR scanners, achieving a complete three-dimensional (3D) spatial survey of the last level of the building, according to the press release of the Ministry of People's Power for Public Works.

This technology, complemented by an exhaustive photographic record and a deep visual inspection, made it possible to map with high precision the state and location of architectural and structural components.

The collection of these high-fidelity data provides the exact technical inputs to design the necessary interventions and define the preventive strategic underpinning of the site.
