The Science Museum (MUCI) welcomed Christmas this November 1 with a concert by the Otilio Galíndez Afro-Venezuelan Orchestra, which belongs to the nucleus of the 23 de Enero parish, which offered a repertoire of traditional rhythms from different regions of the country.

The group performed pieces such as “Correla, Correla”, “Ramito”, “The Feast” and a medley of themes from Maracaibo 15, to accompany the meeting with which the institution welcomed the holiday season, according to a note from the Ministry for Culture.

The Deputy Minister for the Promotion of the Cultural Economy, Rosario Soto, attended the activity and highlighted the value of these initiatives to share with the family and celebrate Venezuelan traditions.

“These activities make us feel at home because this is a tradition (...) Starting these festivities with the rhythm imbued by the Otilio Galíndez Afro-Venezuelan Orchestra undoubtedly reminds us of what it is to be Venezuelan,” he said.

The day was preceded by the blessing of the crib installed in the enclosure. In turn, Ingrid Briceño, the museum's chief education specialist, expressed her satisfaction with the public's receptivity and noted that the program seeks to provide recreational spaces for people of different ages.

Briceño recalled that, although the museum was temporarily closed due to the double earthquake, its workers maintained cultural activities in the camps and other spaces.

In addition, he invited citizens to consult MUCI's digital platforms to learn about the institution's next proposals during the Christmas season .
