Samuel Moncada: US and Israel are forcing the ICC not to investigate crimes in Gaza

The United States and Israel are maintaining a campaign of coercion against the International Criminal Court (ICC) to prevent it from fulfilling its duty to investigate the genocide in Gaza, Venezuela reported to the United Nations (UN).

The ambassador, permanent representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the UN, was the one who made the accusation and asserted that the impunity offered by the United States in Israeli actions is a “perverse stimulus” for Zionism to redouble its crimes against the Palestinian people.

“The leaders of the Israeli regime do not hide their plans, they are proud of their atrocities, they proclaim their intention to redouble their massacres, their contempt for international law is clear, when Israel and the United States carry out a campaign of coercion against the International Criminal Court,” he said.

In the same way, the Venezuelan diplomat recalled that, for more than 65 years, Israel has refused to recognize the rights of Palestinians and believes that it has the right of veto in the UN because of the support it receives from North American imperialism.
