The Venezuelan Salomón Rondón scored the goal that gave Pachuca a 1-1 draw with América de México, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Mexican league.

The Venezuelan started, played full and in the 21st minute he opened the scoreboard giving his club the momentary victory.

With this goal, Rondón scored 17 points in 26 games, has 3 assists and 20 goal appearances, and it is also his second game scoring in a row.

For his outstanding performance, the Venezuelan won the Best Player of the Match award again.

Speaking to the media after the game, Rondón said he was very happy, “all this is a matter of work and continuing to do things well, I am there for what the team needs me. It's time to score goals, hold on, pivot, that's my job, so we keep going.”

He also highlighted the physical and mental effort that the team has made. “Playing four games in seven days isn't easy.”

In the next match, the Venezuelan club will visit America on May 11, in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Liga MX Clausura tournament.
