The president of the Parliamentary Assembly of Saint Lucia, Claudius Francis, reaffirmed his country's commitment to the fight against imperialism and all initiatives in favor of the Peoples within the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).
“Saint Lucia actively participates in all ALBA-TCP activities that seek to dismantle imperialist and neocolonialist ideas and structures in Latin America and the Caribbean. We remain firm with the principle that these progressive political actions promote,” he said during the XXIV ALBA-TCP Summit in Caracas.
In addition, he condemned the blockade and the sanctions against Cuba, and reaffirmed his support for Venezuela and other nations of the regional bloc. “Today we continue our struggles in Latin America and the Caribbean against imperialism and are taking it to new heights, Saint Lucia is proud to take its position among the countries that raise the flag of their unwavering solidarity within the ALBA-TCP,” he said.
He also noted that all the lines and tasks outlined within the framework of the Summit in the economic, political, social, cultural and communication areas are to create better governance at the international level and a better quality of life for everyone on the planet.
For this reason, he reaffirmed that he will continue to be an active participant in all activities within the regional block that seek to “continuously improve the quality of life of our citizens”.
