The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, specified that because of the illegal case of Venezuelans kidnapped in a prison in El Salvador, everywhere where Human Rights are being discussed, they agree that Donald Trump's actions against migrants set a disastrous precedent.”
Saab stated that “this fact sets a disastrous precedent. A before and after.”
He emphasized that “it is a turning point for the global discussion on the subject of Human Rights.”
“It's not an isolated action, this is part of a hybrid war, it mixes all possible actions to overthrow governments,” he said on the program Maduro Live De Repente, hosted by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
The prosecutor denounced that international human rights organizations have no real vigilance, since they do not realize that what the governments of the United States and El Salvador are doing “are crimes against humanity against Venezuelan migrants.”
In his speech, he explained that the tactics used by the international extreme right are intended to highlight the practice of lawfare.
Regarding this technique, he pointed out that this phenomenon involves the use of legal procedures as a political weapon, indicating that in Latin America it has been used to overthrow governments, as an example mentioned the cases of Manuel Zelaya, in Honduras; Fernando Lugo in Paraguay and Dilma Rousseff in Brazil.
He also noted that these maneuvers have been used maliciously, in the case of Venezuela, using the issue of human rights as part of his strategy.
