Russian Vice President of Government Dmitry Chernyshenko (+CIAN) arrives in Venezuela

The Vice President of the Government of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Chernyshenko, arrived in Caracas this Thursday to participate in the XVIII Meeting of the Russia-Venezuela High-Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN).

The senior official, who is the Russian Co-President of CIAN, was received at the “Simon Bolivar” International Airport in Maiquetia, in La Guaira, by the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, and the accredited Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Mélik Bagdasárov.

“This meeting represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen our strategic alliance and continue to advance in various areas of cooperation between our countries,” said the Venezuelan Foreign Minister through his Telegram channel.

According to a press release from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, during his stay in the country, Chernyshenko will develop a work agenda that includes bilateral cooperation meetings with high-level national authorities.

Over 20 years, since the installation of the binational cooperation mechanism, more than 340 instruments have been signed in various sectors for the benefit of both peoples.
