After participating as a special guest in the parade for the 80th anniversary of the Red Army's victory over fascism, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, was dismissed with a standing ovation by the Russian people in Red Square in Moscow.

Along with leaders from other countries, the Venezuelan head of state accompanied Russian President Vladimir Putin in an important tribute to the more than 27 million Soviet martyrs, who offered their lives to achieve victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The central ceremony was the impressive military parade with more than 10,000 members of the Russian Armed Forces and 13 allied countries, who paid tribute to the heroism of the Soviet people.

Earlier, President Maduro participated in a wreath on the Avenue of Heroic Cities, where he highlighted the historic importance of this commemoration for Venezuela and the peoples of the world. “We honor the memory of those who gave their lives for the liberation of humanity from fascism,” he said.
