This Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation urged Israel to stop provoking the Islamic Republic of Iran to cease hostilities, as announced by the entity's spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova.

“It is necessary to stop provoking Iran to retaliate and get out of the spiral of uncontrolled escalation,” he said of the Tel Aviv attack against the Persian country on Friday night.

Zakharova “strongly called on all parties involved to show restraint, put an end to violence and prevent events from turning into a catastrophic scenario”.

“We are deeply concerned about the current explosive escalation between Israel and the Islamic Republic, which poses real threats to stability and security in the region,” the spokeswoman added.

In this regard, he stressed that the root causes of this situation “lie in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict that has not been resolved based on the well-known decisions of the Security Council and the UN General Assembly, which causes increasing tension”.

“We consider it extremely necessary to rapidly normalize the political-military situation in the Middle East, which would respond to the interests of all sensible actors, inside and outside the region,” Zakharova stressed.
