Russia warns of threat to regional security after escalation of tensions in Yemen

The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, warned that the recent escalation of aggression and instability in Yemen represents a real threat to the security of the entire region, urging the immediate consolidation of a ceasefire.

According to information highlighted in Telesur, the Russian diplomat emphasized that “there is no alternative to a constructive and inclusive dialogue between all the parties involved in the Yemeni crisis”, confirming that Moscow will maintain intense diplomatic efforts with regional allies to stop the conflict.

The statements of the Russian Executive come in the context of military operations carried out by mercenary groups subordinated to the geopolitical and economic interests of the United States and Saudi Arabia against the sovereignty of Yemeni territory.

The position of the Russian Foreign Ministry reaffirms the inalienable need to move towards a process of comprehensive political negotiation that guarantees peace, stops foreign interference from imperialism and ensures the stability of the peoples of the Middle East.
