Russia: Suspects arrested for the death of the head of the Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops

This Wednesday, security agencies of the Russian Federation arrested a citizen born in Uzbekistan accused of being the perpetrator of the attack that cost the lives of the head of the Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Igor Kiriilov, and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov.

The official representative of the Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrénko, reported that the alleged suspect was arrested in a joint operation with the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Russian Investigative Committee added that the Uzbek had been “recruited by Ukrainian special forces.”

Telesur adds that a source in the state security and law enforcement agencies that two men involved in the assassination of General Igor Kirillov were arrested.

Both suspects were arrested on Tuesday, hours after the explosion of the bomb, which the Russian Investigative Committee has described as an attack.
