Kiev's troops apparently refuse to comply with the orders of their political leaders, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told the media this Friday, according to information detailed by Russia Today (RT)
“Ukraine publicly supported the 30-day partial ceasefire negotiated by Russia with the United States, its air strikes continue,” Peskov added.
On March 18, Federation President Vladimir Putin ordered an end to attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure after a telephone conversation with his American counterpart, Donald Trump. Both leaders discussed the initiative presented by Washington, and Moscow expressed its support for the idea at the time.
“Russia can claim that the (Ukrainian) leadership has no control over its Armed Forces, that they don't follow their orders when it comes to attacks on energy infrastructure facilities,” Peskov said, adding that attempts to attack Russian infrastructure “happen on a daily basis.”
Russia and the United States also agreed earlier this week on a list of energy facilities that should not be attacked as part of the truce. The list included nuclear power plants, oil and gas facilities, and hydroelectric power plants.
However, it is not clear if the Ukrainian government subsequently gave any orders to its troops.
