The spokesman for the Presidency of the Russian Federation, Dmitri Peskov, ruled out on Monday the alleged energy truce agreement with Ukraine announced previously by the Government of the United States (USA), specifying that the talks are continuing and that there is no temporary cessation of energy infrastructure operations by the parties to the conflict.

Dismissing the unilateral announcements issued by the US administration regarding de-escalation in the energy field, the Kremlin spokesman emphasized that Moscow's strategic position is aimed at achieving comprehensive and lasting peace, rejecting tactical pauses that do not resolve the structural causes of the confrontation.

“Contacts continue, as soon as we have something to say about it, we will inform them without fail,” Peskov said during his regular daily press conference to clarify the state of geopolitical negotiations and deny the allegations about a definitive pact on fuels and electrical infrastructure.

The official Russian position reaffirms the determination of the Eurasian nation to maintain its objectives of sovereign defense and strategic security, in the face of attempts by Western powers to impose truce narratives conditioned by economic interests and pressures on the global energy market.
