This Saturday, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that her country reserves the right to a symmetric response if Ukraine continues to attack its energy infrastructure.

The Russian response comes after the explosion of the Sudzha gas measurement station, located in the Kursk region, on the night of March 21.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine, which controlled the facility since August 2024, detonated it during its withdrawal, causing substantial damage and affecting the supply of gas to Europe.

The attack on Sudzha was the latest in a series of actions that Kiev is carrying out against Russian infrastructure, including a tank park in Kuban and an oil terminal in Krasnodar.

These incidents were evaluated by Moscow as “premeditated provocations” to undermine peace efforts promoted by the United States (USA). Zakharova said that these actions demonstrate Ukraine's “inability to negotiate” and “lack of desire to achieve peace”
